Harmony in Healing: The Essence of Reiki

Did you know at A Better Body we offer Reiki sessions. What is Reiki you may ask? Reiki is a holistic healing practice that originated in Japan in the early 20th century. Rooted in the belief that an unseen life force energy flows through all living beings, Reiki aims to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being by restoring balance to this energy. 

During a Reiki session, the recipient typically lies down comfortably on a massage table, fully clothed. The Reiki practitioner begins by creating a serene and peaceful environment, often through soft lighting, calming music, and gentle aromas. The practitioner then places their hands lightly on or just above specific areas of the recipient's body, such as the head, shoulders, chest, abdomen, limbs, and back.

Using a series of hand positions, the practitioner channels Reiki energy into the recipient's body, allowing the energy to flow where it is most needed. This process is generally experienced as a warm or tingling sensation, although some may simply feel a deep sense of relaxation.

Throughout the session, the practitioner may focus on areas of tension or imbalance, intuitively adjusting their hand placements as needed. The recipient is encouraged to relax and let go, allowing the energy to work its magic.

We offer 60 to 90 minute Reiki sessions here at A Better Body with our Reiki Masters Emily & Justin. After the session, recipients often report feeling deeply relaxed, rejuvenated, and more balanced both physically and emotionally. It's common for people to experience a sense of clarity, peace, and heightened well-being following a Reiki session.
