Tips For Before your Massage
“What should I do before my massage?” is one of the most common questions Massage Therapists get asked AFTER the clients appointment. A lot of clients who have never had a massage sometimes don't know what they should be doing the day of their appointment. So we are going to share some tips for people who are new to the massage world and regulars too! Here are some key tips to follow before your massage:
1. Hydrate
Drink plenty of water to help flush out toxins released during the massage. Also recommend drinking plenty of water after massage too.
2. Avoid Heavy Meals
Eat a light meal at least an hour before your session to prevent discomfort.
3. Shower & Maintain Hygiene
Take a shower before your appointment to remove any sweat and dirt. Avoid strong perfumes or lotions.
4. Wear Comfortable Clothing
Opt for loose, comfortable clothing, especially if you’ll need to change before or after the massage.
5. Communicate with Your Therapist
Inform them of any medical conditions, injuries, or areas that need special attention or should be avoided.
6. Arrive Early
Get to your appointment a few minutes early to relax, complete any paperwork, and avoid feeling rushed.
7. Use the Restroom
A quick bathroom visit before the session can help you fully relax without interruptions.
8. Turn Off Your Phone
Minimize distractions by silencing or turning off your phone.
These tips are not only for the newbies who didn't know but also for the regulars who might be surprised by these suggestions and never knew.
