Self Massage Series: Plantar fasciitis Towel Scrunch Exercise
Purpose:
To strengthen the muscles in the arch of the foot and improve overall foot flexibility, which helps support the plantar fascia and reduce pain associated with plantar fasciitis.
Preparation:
Sit comfortably in a chair with both feet flat on the floor.
Place a small towel on the floor in front of you.
1.Positioning the Towel:
Place your affected foot on the towel, with your heel on the floor and the rest of the towel spread out in front of your toes.
2.Curling the Towel:
Use your toes to grip the towel.
Curl your toes to pull the towel towards you, gathering it under the arch of your foot.
Keep your heel on the floor throughout the exercise.
3.Release:
Once the towel is fully gathered, use your toes to push the towel back to its original position.
Spread your toes and relax them before repeating the motion.
4.Repetitions & Frequency:
Continue the curling and releasing motion for about 5-10 minutes, or until you feel a good workout in the muscles of your foot. Perform this exercise once a day,
